Nowadays we hear more and more about internet marketing.  Let's not lose focus on the several ways to promote business through offline methods too!  Here are just a few to think about:

Business Magazines - Most cities have local magazines for specialized business niches.  These usually cover local interests as well as broader topics.  Check with your local magazine and see about writing a weekly or monthly article.  There are several to choose from.

Newspapers - The same as above, a great way to promote your business.  Yes, most newspapers have writers on staff but they also employ experts for particular niche areas as well.

Association Newsletters - Find associations that support your target audience and see if they send out printed newsletters.  They may value your expert contributions and even offer you a regular spot.

Television Segments - Certain television programs have guest spots.  Watch for these in your particular specialty and contact the station about being a guest.

Radio Shows - There are so many different radio programs with guest experts who take calls from listeners.  This is not only free publicity but also a free way to demonstrate your expertise! 

Chamber of Commerce - Usually chambers of commerce will look for guest speakers at their weekly or monthly get togethers to encourage business people to network.  Look for a breakfast or lunch engagement where you have a captive (eating) audience to speak to.

These are just a few ideas to help promote your business through offline methods.  Checking around your city and asking others in your network circle about ideas will help to generate more brainstorming too.  We will be exploring several different ideas in the coming months so please come back often.
